Great Yarmouth

The church is located near the centre of the village of Hemsby & dedicated to Mary the Mother of Our Lord. The building consists of a Chancel, Nave & South Porch in the decorated & perpendicular style. Although there is mention of a church at Hemsby in the "Domesday Book", the present building dates from the early 14th century. We have a beautiful east window behind the altar designed for the Parish by Caroline Swash & installed in June 1985. The church is open for regular services throughout the year and there is a carpark available behind the Barn Room, which is directly opposite the church. The Barn Room is used for providing refreshments after services as well as for fund raising events. Hemsby is 1 of 4 churches in the Benefice the others being Winterton, West Somerton & Horsey. Whether you are attending the church for services or a visit you can be assured of a warm welcome. Our church is open daily from 10 am for visitors and prayer until 6pm (dusk in winter).
